Product Care
General Care Guidelines
To maintain the quality and appearance of your furniture, always use each piece as intended. Environmental conditions such as direct sunlight can shorten the life of your furniture—prolonged exposure may cause fading or damage. Avoid placing furniture too close to heat sources such as radiators, heaters, gas or wood fires, as this can lead to warping, cracking, or discoloration.
Be mindful of sharp objects like shoe buckles, pet claws, and accessories, which can scratch, tear, or damage surfaces. Avoid sitting on armrests, standing or sitting on tabletops, and do not lean back on chair legs as this may compromise the structural integrity of the furniture.
Timber Surfaces
Most of our timber items feature a lacquered finish that provides moderate water resistance. However, they are not waterproof. Any spills should be wiped away immediately using a non-abrasive, damp cloth, followed by polishing. Allowing liquids to sit may lead to staining or permanent damage if moisture penetrates the lacquer.
Use heat-protective mats when placing hot items like cookware on timber surfaces, as high temperatures can damage the finish. Always use coasters for drinks to prevent water rings and stains.
Due to its organic nature, real timber showcases natural characteristics such as knots, grain variations, uneven edges, and color differences. These are not defects but evidence of authentic craftsmanship. Be aware that timber, especially doors, panels, and tabletops, can warp if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Marble Finishes
Marble is a natural stone, and each piece is unique in its pattern, veining, and color. To preserve its finish, always use heat-resistant mats when placing hot items on marble surfaces. Coasters are recommended for glasses, cups, and bottles to prevent etching or staining.
Wipe spills immediately to avoid absorption and staining. For routine cleaning, use a warm, damp cloth to gently remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
Stainless Steel Finishes
Stainless steel is low-maintenance but still requires regular cleaning to maintain its appearance and resist corrosion. Use a mild detergent with warm water, followed by a clean water rinse. Dust the surface frequently to prevent buildup that can lead to rust.
If needed, a stainless steel polish from a reputable brand can be applied. Avoid using sharp or abrasive objects on the surface, as they may cause scratching. While stainless steel resists stains better than other metals, it is not completely immune to rust or chemical damage, so avoid exposure to harsh substances.
Glass and Mirrored Surfaces
Clean glass and mirrored items using a quality glass cleaner and a soft, lint-free cloth. To protect against heat damage, always use trivets or heat-resistant pads under hot dishes—ideally, avoid placing heated items directly on glass surfaces.
Use coasters to avoid watermarks or scratches from cups and bottles. Prevent damage from sharp or hard items by applying felt pads to the bottoms of decorative objects. Always lift glass tops from the ends to avoid placing stress on the surface, which can result in cracking or breakage.
To remove adhesive or pencil marks, gently apply a small amount of eucalyptus oil with a soft cloth.
Resin and Acrylic Finishes
Resin and acrylic are durable yet prone to scratching and marking, especially from sharp or abrasive items. Keep them away from harsh chemicals and solvents, which can cause surface damage.
For cleaning, use a mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly with a fresh cloth to remove any residue, then blot dry with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid placing these materials near heat sources, as high temperatures may cause warping or degradation.
